We believe that Better Starts Here. By offering fitness classes AND physical therapy, Hyphen is your one-stop shop to make sure you can do what you want, when you want.
On this page, you’ll find everything you need as a New Member at Hyphen.
What To Expect in Class
First, you RESERVE your spot in class via the Hyphen App.
Then once you arrive, you can Check-In on the Lobby iPad. If you’re thirsty, grab a free drink out of the fridge. You’ll hang in the Lobby until the Coach brings you back to class.

INTRODUCTION
Our coaches walk you through the exercises step-by-step, with plenty of options and modifications so you get the right workout for you.
WARM-UP
We start by getting your joints moving and your body primed. This helps prevent injury and prepares you for a great workout.
WORKOUT
This is where the magic happens. You'll work through strength, balance, and mobility exercises tailored for people 60+, all at your own pace.
STRETCHING
We end each class with gentle stretches and breathing work to help your body recover and leave you feeling calm, strong, and accomplished.

You’ve made one of the best decision of your life. Now let’s make sure you get the most out of it.
First 2 Weeks Are For Getting Familiar
If you’re new to exercise, don’t worry about pushing things too hard the first couple weeks. Just get used to the movements, how class works, and have fun!
Consistency > Everything
Consistent effort over a long period of time will get you results. Hyphen is NOT a quick fix that you try for a couple months. We are your one-stop shop for better that will serve you for a lifetime.
Some Soreness is Normal
If you’re new to exercise, you can expect some soreness 1-2 days after class in areas that we worked. Don’t worry, this is normal and means your body is getting stronger! The best thing to do for soreness is to come back to class but just go easy. It’s counterintuitive but this will dramatically help ease your soreness. The worst thing you can do is nothing. As you are consistent (previous point), you will have less and less soreness.
Have an ache or pain? Tell Your Coach
An ache or pain should not mean to stop class. Your coach is trained to handle any issues that may come up in life - an ache, pain, injury, or any limitation. Don’t let those things prevent you from getting better and reaching your goals! Come to class, let your coach know what’s going on, and they’ll be able to tailor that day’s workout to YOUR needs.
We Offer Physical Therapy
If at any point you have an ache, pain, or want a closer look at something, don’t hesitate to get Physical Therapy. You can continue to come to class (previous point) and we can help you get out of pain the sooner you get on our schedule.

What Members Say
What To Know about your Membership
CLASS RESERVATIONS AND LATE CANCELS
You must cancel your reservation in the app as soon as possible so another member can make it. We know emergencies happen, but if there’s a trend of consistent last-minute cancellations, we will be in contact with that member.
YOUR BILLING DATE
You will be billed every month on the day you started your membership.
PAUSING YOUR MEMBERSHIP
You may pause your membership for either 30, 60, or 90 days. Your next billing date will be extended by the number of days the membership is paused.
A request via email or in writing must be submitted to a staff member with your desired pause start date before the pause begins. During the pause, you will not be able to attend classes.
A $20 administrative fee will be applied for every 30 days the membership is paused.
Pauses cannot be applied retroactively.
IF you’re receiving physical therapy, you can pause your membership for the duration of your physical therapy plan of care and we will waive the administrative fee.
CANCELLING YOUR MEMBERSHIP
If it’s within 30 days, email us and you will receive a full refund.
If outside of 30 days from when you start, just email us and we’ll cancel your membership. No questions asked.
Don’t forget you can always refer to your Member Agreement inside your Hyphen App.
